Oh, hi, not Linda Ronstadt. Coulda fooled me. I love cover songs. I love it when they take the song in a new direction or emphasize something you never noticed before or experiment and shake it up a little. I also love it when they tip their hat to the original hit as if to say, hey, this is a great song, and nothing we do is going to make you think this version is any better than the first. The Stone Poneys covered this song written by Mike Nesmith of the Monkees and then Matthew Sweet and Susanna Hoffs came along and imitated it beautifully.
Truth: I love her voice.
